A lovely old violin in very good condition, in the German “Hopf” family style from well over 100 years ago. Good structural condition (a small rib crack in the top bout) with a light brown/yellow varnish typical of this style. Lightly flamed back and sides. Nice clear and warm sound with character, well played in for easy response. A good “old violin” look and sound which is enjoyable to play.
Reconditioned, checked and adjusted for correct playing by our in-store violin repairer. Fitted with new Pirastro Tonica strings and a German Wittner tailpiece with built in fine tuners.
