Description
An attractive old violin in very good condition, most likely from a German maker or workshop well over 100 years ago. Good structural condition (a couple of repaired {internally cleated} belly cracks and a rib crack in the centre bout: not unusual for this age) with a light brown/gold varnish with subtle orange/red highlights. Very nice, strongly flamed back (matching ribs) with good, fairly full arching. Very warm and clear, even and resonant sound, not too loud; a much sought after “old violin” timbre which is very enjoyable to play.
Reconditioned, checked and adjusted for correct playing by our in-store violin repairer.
